Don’t Miss This Vital Part of the Christian Life

Stop!  Slow down…You don’t want to miss this vital part of the Christian life.

When was the last time you paused from life’s distractions to quietly reflect on Scriptures that exalt Jesus Christ – the One who died for you?

Jesus our Savior is calling to you, to me, to all who belong to Him, “Come and rest awhile in My presence. I delight for you to know Me more. Come. You will be strengthened and refreshed.”

Close to Jesus – What better way than to respond to His invitation to deepen your relationship? This a vital part of the Christian life that you can’t afford to miss.

Below are Scriptures that exalt, magnify, and give glory to Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God. I hope you will take time to reflect on them and proclaim them in praise to our Lord and Savior. May we stand in awe of the incomparable Christ once again.

If you have not yet received God’s free gift of salvation by accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior, read “How Can I Know God”.

All Authority Has Been Given to Jesus

John 3:35  The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand.

John 17:1-3  Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You, even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Acts 4:12  [Jesus Christ]… And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Matthew 28:18-20  And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Ephesians 1:19-23  and what is the surpassing greatness of [God’s] power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Philippians 2:5-11 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Colossians 2:2-4, 9-10, 13-15  …God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself,  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument…For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;

When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him.

Hebrews 1:1-4  God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And [Jesus] is the radiance of [God’s] glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.

1 Peter 3:21-22 …Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

Revelation 9:16  And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
