Do you ever wish you could be “better”? That you could be more loving and kind? More patient and forgiving? More…holy?
God has put those desires in you. His plan is to transform you, to radically change you to become like His Son Jesus in your character and behavior. This will prepare you to spend eternity with Him in heaven. It will be a witness to those around you that God is real.
Change Starts on the Inside
True transformation is supernatural and from the inside out. It involves more than a change in your words and behavior. It is a change in your heart, attitudes and thoughts. You can’t be transformed by applying will-power and “trying harder”. There is only one path to true transformation. You must allow Christ – and His Word – to be the center of your life.
Christ’s Word, also known as the Bible, is not like other writings or books. It is the living, inspired Word of God, written down by men of God who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible reveals God and His plan to rescue people from sin through His Son Jesus Christ. It also provides practical instruction. It is the standard, guide, and final authority for the Christian life.
God’s Word is living and active. It is truth that changes lives. Untold thousands have testified to its transforming power.
First Step to True Transformation
Are you ready for a change? The Bible – God’s Word – tells us that the first step to transformation is to believe and accept the Good News about Jesus Christ. You must allow the message of God’s love to transform your life. Find out more here.
Take the first step. Turn from sin and toward Christ, and God will do a miraculous work in you. He will forgive you, adopt you into His family, and give you new life in Christ.
To Change is to Remain
Transformation doesn’t end there. As long as you are living on the earth, God expects you and all His children to continue to “grow in Christ” and become more like Him. The Bible tells us how to do this.
Jesus said, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:31-32).
We must remain in Christ’s Word. We must study it, reflect on it, speak it, and obey it. We must plant it in our heart. Christ’s Word is eternal truth that sets people free from all things that are ungodly. It changes hearts and attitudes, and eventually our words and behavior.
Romans 12:2 instructs us, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
In essence God is saying, “Do not allow yourself to be molded or shaped by the ungodly influences in the world. Instead, be radically changed by the renewing of your mind to become like My Son Jesus Christ.”
Change Your Mind
How do we renew our mind? We must make the effort to internalize God’s Word, to plant it deeply in our heart. And we must act on it and apply it to our life. Transformation is a cooperative effort: our willingness and obedience, plus God’s power. We are changed by the power of the Holy Spirit as we learn to live in obedience to the Word.
Are you willing to let God transform your life? If so, you will be greatly rewarded.
You will enjoy a personal relationship with your Creator and will know His transforming love. You will discover and fulfill your God-given purpose and make a positive difference in the world. And when Jesus returns or your earthly life is over, you will be prepared to live with Him eternally in a beautiful place where there is no more sin, sorrow, or death – only love, joy, and peace.
Transforming Lives Through The Power of God’s Word
This is our desire at Word for Life Publishing. We seek to provide you with Bible-based resources that will enable you to know God, grow in faith, and fulfill your God-given purpose. Our vision is “Transforming Lives Through The Power Of God’s Word”.
Why am I so passionate about seeing lives transformed? Because I want for you what God has done for me.
My life is a testimony to God’s love and transforming power. I once lived without God, without purpose, and without hope. My lifestyle was ungodly and I lived in perpetual worry. I seldom thought of others or of God.
But God wanted me! He loved me and wanted a personal relationship with me. He had a purpose for my life.
For years, God lovingly pursued me without my realizing it…until finally, I “found” Him. Then He very patiently and carefully worked change in me. Now I can testify that I am not the same person I once was. My life has been transformed by the power of God’s Word. I’m so glad my Savior didn’t give up on me! (Read Wendy’s Story)
